Spread #7 – Water Sweet Water July 18, 2008

Posted by Orly in Spreads.

Isn’t it funny that in Guatemala, of all places, I came to deeply appreciate the gift of water? Until then I pretty much took water for granted. It is funny because I would think that a tropical place like Guatemala where water is so abundant would make me quite oblivious to it. Daily rainfall (Rainy season), rivers, creeks, oceans, lakes, and other bodies of water adorn and liven the soil. In the city of Antigua there may be about a million fountains in many shapes and styles; Classic, spanish, modern, minimalist, colorful, whimsical, and rustic. Being surrounded by waters makes me happy. It makes me want to celebrate it.

Did you know there is such day as World Water Day?

This is by far my favorite spread of all. This spread really “spreads” a great message. That why its a great spread. I love the faucets on the left page.

P.S. Did i say spread enough? 😆

What a wonderful spread, Orly. The drawn faucet-like objects to the left spurting water over, “a source of water” is a nice touch. The leaves that you put at the right sprawling over the wall made for a pleasant view around the blue faucet, in spite of them being slightly faded and lying flat on the wall.

Once again, you do not fail to please.
This spread is very nice and although it is made up of two separate pictures, the vines in the image (as well as the whole water aspect) connects the two into one beautiful, intricate work of art.
Great job! 🙂

Awesome job! I love how in the left half of the picture, you created water in the way that you envisioned it. You did a very nice job! Water is always full of life, and can never be cut off… your spread portrays that nicely. 😀
