Spread #36- Integrating Drumming January 22, 2009

Posted by Orly in Spreads.

spread-36-integrating-drumming Integrating the making of rhythmic noise into one’s daily life is essential, as my wordsmith friend Donna reminded me after I apologized for not being able to contain my excitement about a piece of good news I received that day. She wrote me: “…Composed, contained, conservative, restrained, are not the adjectives we want to encompass and embrace right now. Grabbing the wooden spoon, some metal pots and pans and dancing around the living room hoopin’ and hollerin’ and celebrating new beginnings is more what I would expect on such auspicious occasions.” Well yeah… I’ll take it. Apologizing for being thrilled… that’s not me anyway 🙂 Lately, I find myself ready and willing to do anything I know is alive in me, anything I once did naturally as a child while expressing my rhythmic spirit. I say yes to integrating body rhythms with the rhythms of life, giving that overworked brain of ours a well-needed breather…it’s been done for centuries by ancient indigenous worlds. How come we forgot?

Your art journal is amazing and I don’t know if I could live up to that level of talent.

Love Renee

Art, is not just a painting. It is music and dance. It is incredible to me how you take a photoshop spread and relate it to other forms of art in a whimsical way, that shows off your unique personality. 🙂
