I don’t need to be able to create a masterpiece, all I need is to be able to create, to take images, choose some lines, place shapes, pick some words, colors, manipulate, mess and fuss with them, turn them around and around, play with them, play, play and play, and then, let go. It doesn’t take much to get me going. The telling old photograph of a family member and her sister just fell on my lap. What a treasure. Thoughts came to mind, feelings, memories, told to me by this family member, and took me further to my own stories of ‘siblinghood,’ my children’s. You know…Nobody laughs harder together than sisters and brothers do. Nobody fights harder. Nobody can talk about their parents, children, and themselves more openly. Nobody lives longer together. I’m talking about the process of creativity, and about sisters and brothers and the unique bond they have…Nobody….

I really like this post – it tells the importance of siblings, brothers, sisters… This piece is…rusty…..it gives a pleasantly warm feel… it’s boldish, yet calmish….it just evokes lots of happy feelings from within me…

And what you say about siblings is very true.

Orly, this one is wonderful
I love what you say about not having to create a masterpiece. All to often, I have started a project and been thrown off because it has not turned out as a Masterpiece. In reality, I am shutting off what could have been a beautiful expression, because I wasnt willing to “let go” of the idea of having to make a masterpiece. I would like to be more “daring” and try to break out of my own head and style and do a collage piece without the expectation of a masterpiece.

What you say about siblings is so true and to the point- we really do love laugh and fight harder than ANYONE!! I feel like no one can hurt or love you more than your siblings.. 🙂 Having a twin sister and an older sister, I have been through lots of these ups n downs, but would never trade it for the world- because there is something incomparable in having brothers and sisters as partners in life…

Love the colors in this piece, the play with font and especially the words as a pattern in the background- i think letters are Beautiful art forms.
I love how this is a personal piece, with family pictures too. One thing that kind of turns me away from some graphic design is the overuse of clip art, that is all to often not personal.

Thank you for sharing and giving me the opportunity to reflect.

Have a wonderful weekend!
