Spread # 116- Lights December 4, 2010

It is an illuminated month and we are luminous beings. Creativity is a world affair. The ‘quietly making art in the corner’ days are gone; so many of us these days share a creative journey with each other. Collaborative art projects, ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), mail art, learning adventures in retreats and through workshops, Round-Robins, art journaling jamms, and art sharing on personal blogs have become some of the things to do while on the new desirable creative path. Doing so reestablishes our personal responsibility and social connection to the world around us, allowing our creativity to become a forceful energy on which humans all over the world thrive. Being part of this universal ‘movement’ brings about the greatest satisfaction, inspiration, and the simple understanding that we are all interconnected through creativity in a most wonderful way. Ultimately it brings us collective enjoyment in the purest of forms. I have seen this with my own eyes, time and again.

There are many opportunities out there this coming new year to begin or continue to wander through this vast world of creativity. I do it through the practice of Art Journaling (just in case you haven’t noticed), as it allows me to explore ALL mediums of visual expression, including writing. This year I intend to dive deeper into the writing part of it and I’d love for you to join me.

I intend to continue offering my bimonthly 6-hour workshops in Southern California, Redondo Beach and San Diego. Look for the monthly flyer under Workshops and Events. If you wish to receive my monthly detailed class info, please email me to be added to my student email list.

In Feb. 17-21, I will be at the Presentation Center in Santa Cruz Mountains, California, for AN ARTFUL JOURNEY retreat. I’ll be teaching ‘Yours Naturally’- a 3-day nature journaling workshop.

In Apr. 6-10, I will be in Port Townsend, Washington State for ARTFEST. I will be teaching three workshops; ‘A Deck of Roses’, ‘Roots and Shoots’, and ‘The Art of Correspondence’.

In May 15 and 16, in Southern California, I will be teaching a two-day workshop ‘A Walk on the See-Side’ – An explorative (mini) trek of the Rancho Palos Verdes Peninsula’s magnificent cliffs (1st day- outdoors) and observation and expression of our findings (2nd day- indoors) in Redondo Beach (~20 min. driving distance). More info to come.

Visit ‘Workshops and Events’ throughout 2011 to see what else I have in store for you. I hope your creative path will cross mine and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to play with light together.
