It may sound odd, but every time we somehow express our fears, our frailties, inadequacies, we actually create more courage. And every time we create courage we make something more of our selves. This is to my 15 year old son who had the courage today to show some of  his words to the world.

Wonderful! Fear has caused so much trouble in this world, it’s hard to erase and hard to trust, and when we feel you can do it on an individual basis, there’s still too much fear in the hearts of those around you.

powerful poem Ilan wrote..wow….he’s so wise for being so young. I wonder what he’ll do with his one “wild and precious life”.

Your mother’s heart must feel so full. You have allowed your children to be courageous and creative. The poem shows a wisdom beyond years. I often forget that expressing my fear is an act of courage. These words offered a fresh, direct reminder. I love that you included it in your blog.

Hooray for the adventuring soul. Hooray for the young man who is learning to speak his heart, and learning that it is a gift to the world.
