Spread 151- Wanna See Beauty? November 7, 2011

I LOVE this quote that was shared with me by a friend a few days ago, “We are here to awaken from the illusion of our separateness”  by Thich Nhat Hanh. It was then that I decided that my next post will be all about our sameness.

These journal pages were also inspired by this video of these  faces of Papua New Guinea, strikingly beautiful with or without color. The caption says: Amazing traditions, colors, power, beliefs!

I don’t know why, it’s moving me to tears.

Your paintings are beautiful and the video/slide show is amazing – the beauty of the people – the vibrant colors – the painted faces – the smiles of the people – the beads and jewelry and feathers – too too beautiful – my Dad was stationed in New Guinea during WWII so I’ve always had an affinity for their people – very inspiring and you’re so right about “the sameness” of us all – thanks so much! And oh yes, your PAGES—!!!! Exquisite interpretation. I imagine the act of making those pages brought tears to your eyes as well. Bless your global humanity-embracing spirit.

I know! I LOVE that quote too! A friend of mine sent it to me, so I’m glad I sent it on to you! And I think it wil be the next window sign at the studio! As for the woman in your journal spread – do I see that that is a picture of YOU all dressed up New Guinea style?! It sure looks like you! If not, then the ONENESS is clearly strong, my dear.
I love you!!!

That quote is wonderful Orly and the spread that you share is nothing short of AMAZING! Just as colorful and joyful as the people in the video, which is also amazing – I loved seeing the images of happy smiling children as they are learning about their culture.

This post is just bursting with RICHNESS!

The thought of us being the same like the people in Papua New Guinea is inspiring and uplifting. Your pages capture the spirit of this all beautifully.
