Spread 222 – Expressing Vulnerability September 27, 2013

Posted by Orly in Uncategorized.

222-Expressing VulnerabilityThis journal spread is inspired by the words of the incredible Brené Brown, from The Power of  Vulnerability, a video on TED.  She is also the author of The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly.  She says you can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you can’t choose both. And she also says that joy is the most vulnerable emotion. I strive to choose courage over comfort, to grab the joy I need to make my biggest dream happen!

I have to agree with BB that it takes a LOT of courage to experience joy; sadly, many religions frown upon JOY which is why many of us have such trouble fully taking it in =-\
May you be filled with much JOY as you work toward your big dreams Orly!

I’m reading Pam Grout’s E2 book, on experimenting on using the field of possibilities, and bringing in what you want, its so perfect, for this as well…

I feel like I am in a dream when I am observing your spread. It is a dream of fracture parts of life. I have always chosen courage over comfort in my art. It motivates me! Wonderful, Orly!

That is a fascinating choicer to contemplate as being an either/or. Would not have thought of it that way. The symbolism in your journal spread certainly echos the theme.

Orly- this is so right on the mark for what I am experiencing in my life right now. I am in the middle of a major life change. Brene’s book the Gifts of imperfection is a book I have read cover to cover 3 times and I may have to read it again. This spread of yours is rich with meaning for me.

Oh yeah, I admire what Brene Brown does. I’ll probably end up buying one of her books eventually. She did really well on Oprah’s Lifeclass show as well.
